Pre-Ballet/Creative Movement

for 3s and 4s

This pre-ballet class introduces budding ballerinas and cavaliers to beginning steps and vocabulary in a positive and encouraging environment. This class emphasizes the development of flexibility, musicality, coordination, and movement quality. This is a drop off class.

Preschoolers must be mature enough to attend independently

Ballet I

for Kindergartners

This ballet class for new and experienced dancers introduces young ones to ballet vocabulary and basic steps and combinations, while also developing coordination, musicality, and flexibility. Young dancers will be encouraged to explore their own movement quality in a creative and encouraging environment and will begin building strength and understanding the beginnings of technique. Ballet I is a drop off class, with a parent observation class during the final class meeting.

Ballet II

Dancers in this class concentrate on developing technique and strength while expanding their ballet vocabulary, confident movement, and musicality. Although the class follows a structured curriculum in order to focus on improving technical skill, students will also be encouraged to explore their own expressiveness through movement. The final class meeting is a parent observation class.

Ballet III

This class is by placement for experienced, older dancers. The class will introduce more advanced ballet steps and technical concepts, with a focus on developing strength and clean technique at the barre, as well as more complicated center work and enchainements. The final class meeting is a parent observation class.

Ballet IV

This class is by placement for experienced, older dancers. The class will introduce more advanced ballet steps and technical concepts, with a focus on developing strength and clean technique at the barre, as well as more complicated center work and enchainements. The final class meeting is a parent observation class.

Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 p.m. FULL

Upper Level

This class is by placement for experienced, older dancers. The class will introduce more advanced ballet steps and technical concepts, with a focus on developing strength and clean technique at the barre, as well as more complicated center work and enchainements. The final class meeting is a parent observation class.

Thursdays (Pointe) 5:45-6:45 p.m.

Fridays 4:30-6:00 p.m.

 

Conservatory Ballet Program

Students are invited, or selected through audition, to further their ballet studies in this program.  They attend at least two ballet classes per week (one is a conservatory level class) to refine their technique and strengthen legs and feet.  Class sizes are small for individual focus and attention.  Dancers must be at least 8 years old, with at least two years of study in order to be considered.  

Conservatory/Pre-Pointe - Saturdays 12:00-1:15p.m.
